    This brochure tells you more about refugees and how you can help through co-sponsorship and other on-to-one service opportunities. Read the text online or e-mail lirs@lirs.org, to have a copy mailed to you.
  • Responding to the Call: Reaching Out to Immigrants Through Social Ministries

    Brochure: A two-color, 8-page brochure encourages congregations to welcome the stranger and provides practical ideas and guidance for serving newcomers. It outlines suggested ways to help immigrants achieve self-sufficiency, points out keys to successful ministry, and frankly addresses potential challenges. Volunteer Opportunities

  • LIRS Ambassadors Circle
    The LIRS Ambassadors Circle is a group of volunteers trained to promote the agency's mission and work. Through public speaking engagements, conference exhibits, advocacy efforts and resource development efforts LIRS Ambassadors they help make America a more welcoming place for newcomers. Read more.
  • Lutheran Volunteer Corps
    Lutheran Volunteer Corps (LVC) is a year-long domestic service program which has provided LIRS with a number of fine volunteers over the years. Currently, LIRS is privileged to have three LVCers on staff—two in our Baltimore office, serving in our External Relationships and Policy and Advocacy departments, and one in our Washington, D.C., Legislative Affairs office.
