As individuals, each of us has the opportunity to make an impact on the way our communities embrace newcomers. A friendly smile. A shared meal. Help learning English. A ride to church or the doctor’s office. It doesn’t take much beyond the simple commitment to be welcoming.
Refugees. Immigrants. Asylum Seekers. Torture Survivors. Whatever the reason, when people make the difficult decision to leave home and start over in a new place, they risk all that they know to seek freedom, safety and opportunity.
