In Search of Welcome: The Exhibit

During 2009-10, volunteer Beth Azarow spent a year with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service exploring and celebrating the faces and voices of welcome in the United States. Beth recounted her experiences in a blog, In Search of Welcome, and used her gifts as a photographer and videographer to capture images and stories of refugees, migrants, social workers, churches, teachers, musicians and politicians as they seek to create communities of welcome.

In Search of Welcome: The Exhibit is a collection of multimedia photo collages created by Beth to capture the essence of her volunteer experience. The collages invite the viewer to experience welcome as it is shared in various settings throughout the country. Enter into the stories and allow your own story to be transformed by the life and experiences of each person that you encounter.

If you are interested in hosting an exhibit of Beth's original artwork in your school, congregation or place of work, please contact outreach@lirs.org for more information.

To learn more about the artist, read a recent interview in LIRS's eNewsletter, Words of Welcome.
