Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service values the partnership of concerned individuals and congregations who want to speak out for just immigration laws and policies. Thank you for choosing to engage with us in this important work. The following resources will help you understand the issues, take action, and educate your community:
Stand for Welcome
The LIRS Stand for Welcome campaign empowers you to take a stand alongside refugees and migrants as we advocate together for just and humane immigration policies.Engage your congregation in learning about immigration issues and speaking up on behalf of migrants through advocacy and prayer; start a postcard campaign; pick a Sunday and dedicate a few intentional moments to migrants; recieve e-alerts with legislative updates and calls to action.
Take Action
The LIRS Action Center is a powerful advocacy tool that lets you take immediate action in response to current legislation and issues affecting refugees and immigrants. Write your Representative, Senators and the Administration today!
Be Not Afraid
Immigration enforcement measures have brought fear to families and churches. Use LIRS's Be Not Afraid materials to help your congregation and community learn how to respond to immigration issues impacting their lives.

Host a DREAM Sabbath
Every year, 65,000 high school graduates walk out of their classrooms and into a world that is closed to them. Children, raised on American soil, denied the American dream because they lack the proper paperwork.
Host a DREAM Sabbath and help raise awareness about the DREAM Act while moving our country towards more humane and just immigration policies.
