Preferred Communities
This is an Office of Refugee Resettlement program
that promotes resettlement in communities which have favorable conditions
for welcoming newcomers. These conditions would include characteristics
such as a good job market, affordable housing and a welcoming community
attitude. In order to promote resettlement in these communities funds
are available to assist organizations in working with communities
willing to resettle newcomers.
Matching Grant
This U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement program
emphasizes employment services to refugees and enables our affiliates
to provide support services during the period in which the refugees
are seeking and beginning employment. Federal funds must be matched
by affiliate funds in support of the services.
