100th International Women’s Day

Published On: Donate

Today is the 100th International Women’s Day, a day when we celebrate the extraordinary women who have shaped our world!

For over 70 years, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service has been committed to helping migrant and refugee women find safety and opportunity in the United States.

In 2010, LIRS welcomed over 1,200 refugee families led by women. Many have fled gender based violence or survived sex trafficking, and now seek to rebuild their lives in the United States.

You can support Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service as we welcome these extraordinary women.

Give $100 in honor of the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day.

You can ensure that refugee women succeed in this country. You can provide access to education and employment opportunities by supporting LIRS’s microenterprise programs, workplace training, and resettlement efforts.

Want to celebrate a special woman in your life? Give a gift in her honor to Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, and we’ll send her an eCard in recognition of your tribute.

Join us in honoring the courage of migrant and refugee women and stand together with them for their rights, their dignity, and their dreams.
