In recent months, thousands of unaccompanied migrant children have arrived at our southern border seeking protection from the violence, climate disaster, and extreme poverty that have ravaged Central America and beyond. Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service operates across the country to provide care to unaccompanied children and is urgently working with our service partners, community groups, and volunteers to address the critical needs of recently arrived children and working to reunite them with a family member here in the United States.
Watch “Our Call to Care: Supporting Unaccompanied Children at the Southern Border” below to learn more about the influx of unaccompanied children at our border, actions LIRS is taking to support them, and ways you can join us in the work of protecting and welcoming vulnerable children and families.
