Our Call to Care: More Than Allies

Last month, President Biden has recently announced the withdrawal of all troops from Afghanistan by September 2021 – a decision that shocked the world. Gaining rising attention in the United States, particularly among veterans and people of faith, is concerns about the fate of American-affiliated Afghans who assisted the U.S. mission. With these concerns, LIRS has joined veterans’ groups, resettlement partners, and members of Congress to create a call to action towards the Biden administration to evacuate American-affiliated Afghans at risk anti-American violence and retaliation.
Join LIRS and special guest, Matt Zeller, Truman Project Fellow and author of “Watches Without Time: An American Soldier in Afghanistan,” for a brief 30-minute roundtable discussion to talk about the historical strategies of evacuating allies, the need to evacuate our American-affiliated Afghan allies in a timely fashion, and what YOU can do to ensure a timely evacuation happens.
