This is Home: A Refugee Story Screening

January 21, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

As we prepare to celebrate and commemorate the birthday of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we are reminded that his dream of a more just and equitable world still echoes today for thousands of migrants and refugees forced to flee their homes and seek refuge in the United States.

Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS), in partnership with Christ Lutheran Church, invites you to a special screening of 2018 Sundance Festival winner, This is Home: A Refugee Story. The documentary follows the plight of refugee families arriving in Baltimore City and their journey to becoming self-sufficient.

The event is free and open to the public. The program begins with a reception and the film screening will be followed by a panel of speakers including some of the refugee families featured in the documentary.
