Fostering welcoming communities is central to LIRS’s mission, and you can be an ambassador for this important work. Help us open the hearts and minds of individuals by sharing our work with your congregation or by inviting one of our inspiring speakers to come share their story with your community!
Whether your congregation is new to assisting refugees or has a history of newcomer ministry, you can observe Refugee Sunday and create a meaningful experience with this unique set of Refugee Sunday resources.

For many newcomers our holidays and the traditions that surround them are new. We invite you to host a meal, inviting your immigrant and refugee neighbors to “break bread” with you, and discuss how current immigration policies are impacting their lives. We hope that this initial meal will be the first of many meals shared together as you seek to build relationships with immigrants and refugees in your communities.
