button_icon_top_picksAs our nation celebrated Independence Day this past week, New Americans all over the country swore their allegiance to the United States and became our newest citizens.  While immigration reform still has a very rocky road to completion, it is heartening to know that our country is continuing to grow stronger by welcoming new immigrants into its fold.  In this week’s Top Picks, I would especially like to lift up Annaluisa Padilla’s post on immigration reform in the House, and Mary Giovagnoli’s piece on the civics test and the roadmap to citizenship.

Please email me or comment if you have any thoughts about this week’s Top Picks. Thank you for taking the time to visit our blog, and I look forward to bringing you the best online commentary on immigration and refugee issues.
