I’m excited that today, LIRS is joining with numerous other rights and immigration organizations to host House and Senate briefings on “Family Unity in America’s Legal Immigration System.”
We’re proud to be holding these events together with the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Asian American Justice Center, National Council of La Raza, U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, and South Asian Americans Leading Together.
We’re pleased to contribute our leadership and that of our national network by co-hosting these briefings on the critical importance of protecting family unity in our immigration system.
This is a message close to the heart of all Americans, and is a core value that must be honored in the efforts of Congress and the Administration to draft and enact comprehensive immigration reform.
Thank you for all the calls, emails, and talks that you’ve initiated with your elected officials. While Hill briefings are critically important, we know that in the end, our senators and representatives are most attentive to you, the people in their home district. If you haven’t had a chance to speak out recently for fair and compassionate immigration reform, you can do so now at the LIRS Action Center.
