We received the news of the passing away of The King-Father of Cambodia, Norodom Sihanouk, with great sadness.
All of us at Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service are aware of King Sihanouk’s vital and much-appreciated contributions to the cultural, political, and economic progress of Cambodia. His many decades of work on behalf of the Cambodian people have made him known across the world and endeared him to his countless friends, supporters, and partners.
We share the grief of King Norodom Sihamoni, the Royal Family, and the Cambodian people, and trust that they will have the strength to bear the loss. We are sure it is the wish of all peoples around the world that the soul of this distinguished leader have a peaceful repose.
We at Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service share a strong bond with Cambodians based on our years of work in refugee resettlement and through ongoing community engagement. In this hour of mourning, we take comfort in the warm relationships that have been formed over decades, and we share our sympathy and condolences with all Cambodians at the passing of The King-Father of Cambodia, Norodom Sihanouk.
