Just a quick invitation to visit this blog on Monday, when we’ll unveil the updated version, “Redefining Welcome.”
Our revamped blog will be a home space for Linda Hartke, our president and CEO, to offer reflections on immigration and refugee issues. She’ll be taking the lead in writing posts. Because she comes at our issues with years of experience, we expect that reading the fresh blog will be a richer opportunity to gain insights into what lies ahead for New Americans and those who Stand for Welcome.
We’re also going to bring you the best guest voices from New American communities and the organizations that stand with them. There’s so much we need their thoughts on: comprehensive immigration reform, the DREAM Act, alternatives to detention, human trafficking… the list of hot topics goes on and on.
Also, the blog in its revamped form will offer you features on a regular basis. So, for example, you’ll know that you can find national action alerts on a particular day, and Top Picks of the Immigration and Refugee Blogosphere on another.
Of course, we’ll continue to provide the latest action alerts (both state- and national-level) and cutting-edge resources created by our partners, allies, and staff. Like the immigration and refugee resettlement Mythbusters.
And that’s just the start of what we have planned. We have other ideas ready to roll, including a photography contest that we’ll open in January!
Thanks for reading, and above all for your willingness to Stand for Welcome. If you have a chance, please spread this post around your social media so others can learn of the revamped blog. We hope to see you Monday for this exciting launch!
