LIRS is encouraged to see that Eric Schwartz, Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Migration, will travel to Ecuador and Colombia from February 26 – March 4, 2011 to discuss humanitarian needs of Colombian refugees and those displaced from their homes within Colombia. Many of you will remember the trip LIRS’s Susan Krehbiel took to South America last fall with Refugee Council USA to bring more attention to the situation.
