LIRS North Dakota

For more than 75 years, Fargo, North Dakota has welcomed newcomers from all over the world in partnership with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS). LIRS opened a field office in 2021 to continue the community-based services to resettle refugee families after the closure of Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota. In close coordination with the State of North Dakota, refugees served by LIRS North Dakota in Fargo will receive a comprehensive set of services including cultural orientation, school enrollment, coordination of initial health appointments, referrals to ESL classes and employment preparation and placement.

Dan Hannaher, LIRS North Dakota Field Director

Dan Hannaher is a life-long resident of the Fargo-Moorhead community with a successful background in business and government service. Hannaher previously served as the ND State Refugee Coordinator and Director of New American Services at Lutheran Social Services
