Services for Ukrainian Humanitarian Parolees

All Ukrainians who received humanitarian parole upon entry to the United States after February 24, 2022 are now eligible for services and assistance through a new 90-day program from the Office of Refugee Resettlement 

This program is designed to help Ukrainians thrive in their new communities through assistance with enrollment in employment programs and public benefits, referrals to medical and mental health services, and more 

Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS) is a proud provider of the program through our affiliate network. 

Ukrainians who entered the United States through humanitarian parole after February 2022 are eligible for the services.

  • Initial assessment and home visit  
  • Emergency housing support (if necessary) 
  • Work authorization application 
  • Public benefits application  
  • Medical screening  
  • School enrollment  
  • Referrals to employment programs 
  • Cultural orientation  
  • Mental health referrals  
  • Legal assistance referrals

This program is intended to supplement and bolster the services sponsors are responsible for through the Uniting for Ukraine program. If clients or sponsors are unsure how to access the benefits they’re eligible for, the program can help refer them to the services they need.  In case of crisis or sponsor breakdown, the program can provide emergency relief.

No. While the program has regional hubs, it is available nationwide. 

The program offers 90 days of service for each individual. Those eligible are encouraged to enroll as soon as possible.
